1) They were very based on controlling and dominating the Indians. So concentrated on it, that they ended up killing the Indians and not having anyone to do labor for them. Thus, they left.
2) The Europeans entered the Renaissance. This was also a time where merchants financed the Crusades, a quest to take back the holy land from the Muslims.
3) They had superior arms, as well as they were able to turn other Indian tribes against the Aztecs.
4) The English were looking to dominate the Indians, the French were looking for commerce, and the Spanish were looking for gold. Spain colonized most of South America, the English colonized the temperate part of the uncolonized North America, and the French colonized most of what is today eastern Canada.
5) It gave the new Protestants a place to go to get away from the Catholic Church and their home monarchs.
6) Discovery is finding or finding out something that nobody has before. Columbus found the New World in landing in the Bahamas, However, he was not the first to land in today’s USA, nor did he ever. So he cannot be credited with discovering America,
